April 14, 2024: We have updated the list as of today to include all agencies that have approved telework programs in place for Local 1180 members. If you have questions about telework at your agency, please contact the Staff Rep listed next to each agency. Click on the Staff Rep name to send a direct email.
Nov. 13, 2023: We are in the process of working with various agencies participating in the new telework program. A few agencies already have submitted their policies and list of eligible members to the Mayor’s Office of Labor Relations (OLR), which is the starting point. Once OLR provides approval, that information is then sent to Local 1180 for review.
Local 1180 needs to make sure all members eligible for the program are on the submitted telework list. At that point, after a discussion with the agency, we approve the agency’s list. The agency involved will provide a start date for remote work. Each agency determines the work-from-home days based on their needs.
Please note that not everyone will be eligible to telework as some jobs do not allow for this type of arrangement and some agencies are not participating in the program. We are currently working with NYCHA to implement telework for our members.
As of now, we have received 34 agency lists and are working with OLR on final confirmations. Again, please remember that it is up to each individual agency to determine a telework start date. That is not determined by Local 1180.
When the Union and the agency agree, confirmation is sent to OLR and a letter will come from the agency to each eligible employee for remote work on the start date. Please be patient as we must go through each individual agency to confirm eligibles. H+H is drafting a policy and has not started remote work yet, even for DC 37. We will follow DC 37 immediately after their agreement with H+H is finalized.
